Server update news~ IMPORTANT Updated 16:45GMT+1

Hey all,

Last Saturday , like all of you know , we changed the Oldmap to a NewMap , every staffmember worked a good month on this map to get everything prepared , and dang it looked amazing!

But now to the point , because of the fact that the plugin we based everything on , called Multiverse ( A plugin which let's you make more worlds one on a server ) messed something up.
When we closed down the server , I made a back-up of the Oldmap , and transfered the newmap as a file named 'world' <-- Basically I changed the map folders, which ment the NewWorld was now the normal world.
After doing this , we logged in , noticing that all buildings didn't transfer , only the Npc's did.
This basically ment that something in the multiverse plugin messed up , and not this alone , it overwrote the world file after the next restart , meaning we probably lost all our progress on NewWorld.

What this means , is that we for sure lost NewWorld , and we now have our hopes on the OldWorld , to get this back up.
Like I said before I made an back-up , if something went wrong , and it did.

When I tried to upload the back-up back in , the server provider couldn't handle it , consdering that there is a max you can upload at a time , and the map file oversized this limit by ALOT!.

Some solutions by the staff , and answers

Mao asked if the server saves couldn't help this , to get the server back up without uploading the server file itself , here is the answer of the provider : 'The auto-saves simply save the world to disk. They are not backups.'

Hoha suggested to use Winrar to upload the world in pieces , I tried this and this is not going to work , you can upload them in pieces , yes , but the main file ( the world file ) , is still alot larger then the limit the provider gives us.

Ala suggested to contact the provider to over-extend this limit , and ask if they can upload the file for us, The provider said they will try it , but they said that the chance of it failing is huge, considering the fact that the 'bandwith' <-- The server expansion ( all the fog gone ) was huge on our server , considering the fact that the map was used for 6 months.

So all we can do now is hope the provider succeeds in uploading this , but really I am always positive , and still am now , but they said not to get the hopes high , considering it's a huge file.

So don't be shocked if the server get's online again with nothing on it ;l

Ok so we've had our answer from the provider, and unfortunately its not good, and in effect its all been lost. All builds, all transfer requests, all areas, chests, the lot.

As we are right now, we have a blank map, however all the plugins still function and all the ranks still stand.

As such, the server is to be Whitelisted until Friday, if you want to help the mods and admins rebuild in super fast time, then please post below, whereby you will be added to the white list, and will work with your mods/admins to rebuild the areas that they assign you.

This is the essential build list:
1. Spawn (have a saved schematic)
2. Tutorial Area + Donator Room
3. City Shop Area
4. Portal Temple area
These areas will be run by the admins+mods directly

What we require members for right away is to help find large biomes so we can set up the stargates:
Forest
Desert
Plains
Swamp
Jungle
Tundra/Taiga
Hills
Sea
Mushroom
Members are asked to get a admin/mod to set suitable biome with a /setwarp nameofbiome command, and the member will build a temple here where the portal will be housed.

Note: Items such as Areas or the New Starmine City, are not essential builds, and will be constructed once the essential builds are complete.

DEADLINE: FRIDAY - so for those players not wanting to help out with the server build will find themselves able to join as normal as of Saturday.

More information to be added as and when required.

I'm mostly free most of the day. I can help with building and exploring. All I need is instructions and/or a basic schematic. I'm very good at pattern recognition, which is good for building patterns. I honestly would love to help with the server.

I would love to help in anyway shape or form because Starmine deserves a fresh start and the quicker its done the better. It is a real shame on what happened to the NewWorld being uploaded and at least you guys did the best that you could
