Survival News - It's official.

Hi guys, I am writing this on Snowyboy's behalf.
Well, I'm sure you are unaware of what is being decided on Starmine Survival server.
I will split this up into parts, So I don't mix it up too much.


ARGH! WHAT'S GOING ON!?
It's sad to say but we have to wave our Goodbye's to Starmine, As sad as it all seems Starmine Survival is coming to a halt.
The reason for this is because we are losing our popularity, & There's no point in running a server who has less then 10 playes a day.
It's just like playing Single player. Starmine has had it's ups & downs over almost a year, But now this is a mega change. There's nothing you can say/do to change it, We hope to start building the new server later this evening.

ANY GOOD NEWS!?!?!?
Yes! Yes there is!
PvP Server is looking good, It's defiantly staying! We are also doing it up a better spawn ^_^
We are making the new server off Survival's IP, So if you want the Ip, Obviously It's 46.105.108.19:25594.
That's it really.

WHAT EFFECTS WILL IT HAVE!?
We won't have Survival, Really.

ARGHH! I RECENTLY DONATED & YOU'RE TELLING ME THIS!?
Simples! You can keep your Rank (You- PHEW!) It goes to the new server OR you can have it rolled over to PvP.

WHAT'S THE NEW SERVER GOING TO BE/BE ABOUT!?
The Server will be a gaming server, Jam packed with fun games, & never a moment of nothing to do.
It will be called 'Starmine ________' It will host games such as Paintball, Hunger games ETC.

So, Don't go bugging any members off Staff, Basically, You have to stick with the Choice.

I will just be clearing up some things as much as possible.

First off
Many people think that I enjoy removing this server and replace it , and that I don't listen to your opinions.
Well the thing is; I have had this idea for almost 3 months now , and I kept postponing it , in the hope that survival would finally rise again.
Sadly this didn't happen, and the server ( My own fault ) , was offline for a couple of weeks.

I really don't enjoy removing this server , as much as you guys mined/build , I spend my time on the spawn , helping people and so many other things ; it's insane!
Not only you have memories about this server , I also do.

I hope that the memories everyone has are good ones , even while there were so many up and downs , it stays a game so we have to enjoy it as much as possible.

Why am I doing it?

First off I would like to start with the past; when I started hosting servers which was 1 year ago servers were really new.
Survival servers back then were almost the only option to have as a server to play on , on multiplayer.
Because of this reason the server did well in the past.

Around 2 months later new servers came up ; PvP , RPG , Jails and so much more; there was more choice in picking a server.
Because survival was one of the first server types available, people see them as 'basic'.

Because of this simple reason people prefer to play on servers which are different from other ones , plugin wise.

Because of the fact that survival has gone down so much ( Not only our server but also other servers ) I decided to switch it.
I know that many people will leave , and I totally respect your opinion about ongoing update.
I know it's a big update , not only for you but also for me.

Because the server didn't improve as mentioned above I decided that it was time; time to close this chapter and start a new one.

Why am I doing it #2?

Not only because of the reason mentioned above , but also because of the following reason I decided to stop the server.

Server hosting takes time, effort and fun.
3 Things which I currently don't have with survival , yes survival USED to be fun but after 1 year the same over and over again you are getting bored so easily.

The thing right now is , is the fact that my real-life mate ( snowgorilla ) and me also started a PvP server.
As he knows nothing about plugins , I am the one who needs to do all the work, this combined with survival is undoable if I want to have a normal life.

Also the main staff left , back in the day when everything runned smoothly some really good moderators/admins were playing , like Peachcai , XsheepownerX ( now going to PvP ), and so many others.
( I AM NOT SAYING THAT CURRENT STAFF IS BAD WHATSOEVER )
But the feeling of the staff was different , back then it felt like a team , right now it feels like a pack of good moderators all solo'ing.
Some moderators are even trying to get others deranked while they got basically no proof.

And quite honest I am getting tired of that.

I hope the new server will run itself more , and that the server doesn't need to be watched 24/7 because that is what's goin on right now with survival.

Try the new server out!

I know that many of you said that you would quit Starmine if this would happen, but I can only ask you to try it out.
I heard multiple admins/moderators who though it was a bad idea , but joined a server I meant and enjoyed themselves alot.
After this they completely changed their mind and decided that it was quite fun to have such an server.

Ofcourse I am not saying that everyone has the same feeling about this , but I feel like it's trying out.

Its sad that it has to go, T'was my first server I ever played on-line on minecraft

Yea same, I'm really gunna miss starmine survival and I mean REALLY gunna miss it. It's a real damn shame to see it go
My double chest full of enchanted equipment is gunna go every thing is gunna go...

Ugh, I actually hate the PvP Server right now. And if this does go ahead, then I may leave Starmine.

well I don't mind the pvp server, I like the survival server better...

I just don't like all the damn fights people have on the pvp server it's well and truly stupid and the most annoying thing is when people post those damn stupid reports that they don't have any proof with...

Starmine survival was the best server I ever played on. If it weren't for my friend, I would've never gotten back to playing survival I'm glad I came back after about 3-4 months. I played on about 4 servers in total, in my life. This one is, and will be the best I have EVER played. Sad to see SRV go

If it wasn't for Dan (Mrcat) who told my brother (Jammyteeeee) about the server over Xbox I would never of found out about the server, also this server intruduced me to minecraft! I was on this server ages ago, with the old staff, then I got banned... (trololola) then I was unbanned, same with my brother...

Any one remember Mrcats old hotel? if they were on at that piont I lived there but I accidently broke a cauldron and my brother broke the other one next to it (both purly by accident). and I was banned for absolutly ages till my brother and I was unbanned that was like my happiest day of my life!

I don't know how you must feel snow I respect you and if there is anything you need I will help you to the best of my abilities
And that ending part was really upsetting though

We could have a dungeon designed off spawn and memorable buildings hidden under the survival grave.

well, im excited for the game server, ill miss SRV sure, but i ran out of things to do on it:L plus i saw what kind of games and things snowy is shooting for and it looks REALLY fun

Will ranks also move over to the games server?

i believe so, we arent sure about donator rank perks yet, i am trying to get a donator SRV world <3

And tylo will we still be mods on the server??

Ranks can be transferred to the game server, and to the pvp server.

AUS, ask snowy for your rank, he has the paypal account and can check if you donated, and how much.
