A Hello and Thank You for allowing me the pleasure...

I have been playing Minecraft since Alpha. I purchased an account, played for a couple days, and then forgot about it. For a long time. Around Beta 1.6, I started playing again and really getting into it. Minecraft is now a hobby.

My first experience with SMP (and no intention of advertising another server, really) was Super-Earth. While huge and expansive, mobs were 'wonky' and my community I joined quickly died out. After becoming a prominent member and contributing to the building of many parts of BeachCove, I lost my job and went homeless. For the six months I spent in a homeless shelter, many things changed. including my status as a donating member, my status as a citizen of BeachCove and more importantly, all the things I gathered in my home which was now inaccessible. The real crappy thing about it, especially when it came to my donator status, no one was willing to help beyond the "Donate again" answer. I was not about to donate that much money again to have my privileges back. So, I was on the market this last week for a new server. I saw Starmine in the title amongst all the other minecraftforum posts and...

Well... the rest is history.

I have been playing for two days now and I like what I see and what I am doing. the freedom is awesome, the people I have run across are great, the mobs actually do things and very little lag. I believe I found a server to call home till I move on or try my own server again...we'll see.

PS I should point out that I will be donating to Starmine. I have 99% intention to do so. I begin my new job on May 29th and will definitely fit it into my first paycheck. I now have a free ride for a while, so I am allowed some 'play money' on my first check. And who knows. maybe the same thing will happen with multiple donations ;-)
