Slime Farm

I was wondering if someone in the know how could get me the seed to the current survival world map. I would like to make a slime farm and the best/fastest/easiest way is to take the seed and put it into an online slime chunk finder.

Examples:
- http://extension.ws/minecraft/slimes.html
- http://mcslimes.appspot.com/

Quite frankly, if there are any doubters, I can't use a seed number to find where the perfect diamond vein is, I can't use it to fly, and the only thing I promise to do is use it to find slime chunks.


Also if I could get the new world map when the reset occurs that'd be awesome too. I intend on using slime balls for sticky pistons for the redstone group.

Anything that gives an unfair advantage to a player isn't allowed on the server. With the seed you could do any number of things to take said advantage of it and we would know. I'm not even sure that admins have access to it.

honestly nobody can give you that even if they wanted to. a few updates back they removed the ability to see a SMP world's seed, as people were complaining about others stealing their worlds.

Admins can get it, It's in the server properties.

on Rei's Minimap there is a slime chunk finder on it but I don't think it works in SMP because when I turn it on I see no diffidence on the map, Or they are just really rare

Nah, chunk finders, mob markers and all that like don't seem to work on Rei's since I have them all enabled and travelled pretty good distances and nothing has come up as yet.

I view everything from a "survival/RP" perspective. While it seems a good idea to support your redstone group with something like this, it wouldn't really fit into how you got to that point. This is a survival world - you do everything yourself! Your group might end up making a profit from slimeballs and completing redstone projects for people (like a ship-building company). You'll probably end up with a page on the Starmine Compendium, even! Have the server's first joint-shop area - I don't know. Better find a good manager! ;P

So, we can't give the unfair advantage... but, perhaps, you could plan for everyone to go slime-chunk-searching on a certain day. Best of luck to your group. I'll help in any way I can!

Someone above has given the solution, reis mini has a slime chunk finder.

Also am i right in thinking that typing F3 does bring up the seed number, or does it not do that any more?

I believe it was removed after there were a sizeable amount of complaints from people about having their maps stolen by others.

Don't worry Nile, for some reason all the places I have set up on the server have a slime chunk in them. Maybe I'll be lucky and find another one.

If I don't get lucky it's just another reason for an adventure.
