Struggles with modding

So while Minecraft.net is offline, I decided to get a few mods together.

Firstly I wanted TMI. Downloaded and installed fine. Then I tried Optifine, for some reason Optfine and TMI didn't go together. When I tried starting Minecraft it was just a black screen. The other mods I want are Reis Minimap, and Retro sounds pack. So if someone could assist me with these, or provide me with their bin folder that has these mods, I would be very greatful.

Optifine and TMI work fine together for me, so does Rei's Minimap. I have never used Retro sounds pack though, that might be the problem.

You can get the Magic Launcher. It's easy to install mods that way and you can check for errors and compatibilities.

I figured out the problem. First off I was editing my music disks to my preferd songs, so when I put "13" in I would get Tenacious D. But when you start Minecraft it will replace Tenacious D back to 13 UNLESS you add a special .class file into your .jar . That amx.class was the problem. And I'm still having trouble adding Reis Minimap and retro soundspack together.

I really don't think it matters what mod you move to your .jar file first.

It actually matters if you put mods in the wrong order because some important files can be over written.

Oh, so which ones should I put in first?
