| What is the difference of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day? As in the US you get gifts on the 25th while here the 24th? | |

| Its all about family preference. Some people, in the US or otherwise, open presents on christmas day, and others open them the night before. Personally, I open them on christmas day, but it doesnt really matter. | |

| Christmas Eve is the day before Christmas, (hence, Eve). Christmas day is the exact date of the birth of Jesus Christ, which, in most cultures, is the proposed lord and saviour of man. | |

| What my mum did (She's German) Her and her family on Chirstmas Eve would go out and look at Chrismas lights for a few hours, then they would come back at midnight, and their gifts would be under the tree. But personally, I open on Christmas.

| My family doesn't do christmas with presents. We have a holiday on the 5th of december, which probably all of you aren't familiar with. It's called 'sinterklaas' and you pronounce it alot like 'santa claus'. Which isn't weird, because it's kind of a copy of santa claus. Basically, it's an old guy with a big beard, who looks like a priest, and every year he comes to the Netherlands with his helpers, and all children look forward to it. Our parents buy a big wool sack, about 1m+ high, and stuff it with presents, then put it infront of a window or something and make the children believe 'sinterklaas' placed it there. Because we celebrate this, since my little brother is 5(he still believes in 'sinterklaas') so no presents at christmas. We gather with the whole family and have a big meal, everyone brings something they've cooked/baked themselves. It's really fun | |

| It's always nice to learn about other culters. Total oposite with me Sheep. Because knowone in my family beleves in Santa anymore, we've sort of gotten out of the Christmas spirit. Even all our relatives don't celebrate it. It's more like "Just give me my stuff and move on". Australians never really get into Christmas, nor Halloween, and not much Easter. Pretty much because we're all Athiests. But we enjoy the Melbourne Cup and New Years eve! | |

| Same aus, we don't celebrate easter or halloween. We just have family days on holidays like those, it's fun, but we never do any trick or treating and stuff, | |
